For more than a century, the St. Petersburg Yacht Club has been a cornerstone of our community and a home on the water for generations of members. As we look ahead, we’re preparing for a future that invigorates the same spirit of yachting, connection, recreation, and resilience.
The new clubhouse project is designed to strengthen operations, enhance member experiences, protect the club from future storm damage, and meet the needs for today and the next 100 years. Explore this site to learn more about why this project is needed and how it reflects our shared vision for the future.
SPYC members receive updates on the clubhouse planning & construction process through the club’s monthly member newsletter, Smooth Sailing, as well as regular member emails and member meetings.
As part of the regular five-year strategic review, SPYC evaluated the needs of its members, the resilience of its facilities, and the sustainability of club operations. The review concluded that the existing downtown clubhouse could not meet these evolving requirements. The Board of Directors therefore voted unanimously to include the development of a new clubhouse in the SPYC Master Plan.

As careful stewards of SPYC’s legacy, we’re investing in improvements that ensure the club remains sustainable, storm-resilient, and able to meet member needs well into the future while adhering to its long-standing yachting history.
